Disentangling Cro-Magnon: The pedal remains
نویسندگان
چکیده
The seventeen human pedal remains from Cro-Magnon (2 tali, 7 subtalar tarsals, metatarsals, and a proximal phalanx) can be grouped into three individual sets of bones, based on articular congruence, symmetry, size, pathology. They correspond to the previously identified (Thibeault Villotte, J. Arch. Sci. Rep. 21, 76–86, 2018) Alpha (Cro-Magnon 1), Beta Gamma postcranial individuals. are average size for Mid Upper Paleolithic, whereas talus is relatively small. length proportions similar other Late Pleistocene recent humans, including foot femur length. tarsal articulations unexceptional notable only evidence habitual talocrural dorsiflexion, as indicated by distal trochlear extensions, squatting facet large sulcus tali facets. first metatarsophalangeal indicate normal hallucal orientation. metatarsals 4 5 phalanx pathological alterations provide further 1 systemic abnormalities.

Cro-Magnon: A Patch Hunter-Gatherer
On a relatively large and heterogeneous network, there may be several operating systems and dozens of major applications in general use. Locating and maintaining patches for these systems can take up a significant portion of a system administrator’s time. In addition, groups of machines must all be kept at consistent patch levels, and the exact patch level may vary depending on the group. Secur...
متن کاملCan we still hear the Cro-magnon man?
This paper is an essay to connect with the stone Age coastal hunters who sheltered 28,000 years ago in the caves of today's italian Mediterranean sea shore cliffs. We have focused on the archaeological Gravettian layer in the Cavillon cave from Grimaldi occupied by Cro Magnons (informal name for Anatomically Modern Humans of the European Upper Paleolithic), which demonstrates the technical skil...
متن کاملA deterministic model of admixture and genetic introgression: the case of Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon.
There is an ongoing debate in the field of human evolution about the possible contribution of Neanderthals to the modern human gene pool. To study how the Neanderthal private alleles may have spread over the genes of Homo sapiens, we propose a deterministic model based on recursive equations and ordinary differential equations. If the Neanderthal population was large compared to the Homo sapien...
متن کاملA 28,000 Years Old Cro-Magnon mtDNA Sequence Differs from All Potentially Contaminating Modern Sequences
BACKGROUND DNA sequences from ancient specimens may in fact result from undetected contamination of the ancient specimens by modern DNA, and the problem is particularly challenging in studies of human fossils. Doubts on the authenticity of the available sequences have so far hampered genetic comparisons between anatomically archaic (Neandertal) and early modern (Cro-Magnoid) Europeans. METHOD...
متن کاملDressing the Giant Magnon
We apply the dressing method to construct new classical string solutions describing various scattering and bound states of magnons. These solutions carry one, two or three SO(6) charges and correspond to multi-soliton configurations in the generalized sineGordon models.
